Evo has long since produced great automotive videos, even giving the now-very-famous Chris Harris his Youtube breakthrough. But about 4 weeks ago something changed, and now Evo has turned their video production output into something quite magical.
When the 458 Aperta video arrived, with Jethro Bovingdon thrashing a full-bore Ferrari around Italian backroads in the pouring rain with the roof open, I noticed that the cinematography had changed from the simple in-car video review with cut away shots.
"Maybe that was just for this video considering the circumstances of the situation they were in," I thought. But no.
Evo was blessed with the chance to review the Porsche 918 back-to-back with the McLaren P1, producing such dynamic cinematography that will stay with us forever. Just peer over at that GIF on the left of the world's most technologically advanced hypercar spewing all of it's rear tires back at a dizzyingly close chase camera; stellar.
And then it was time for the British Magazine to share their trip up to Scotland where they evaluated the 2014 car of the year.
Youtube videos have changed, and I can't wait to see what's next. Your move Chris Harris.
What follows is a list of the best Evo videos I've found, from the older simple Evo diaries with Harry Metcalf to the newer generation of more in-depth and visually appealing videos from Jethro and Richard Meaden.

I think this is in large part to the relative cheapness of quality cameras and equipment such as drones that where previously unavailable to consumers (though a magazine like Evo is not technically a consumer), as well as the decline of print media. people still want to read about cars, but they don't want to buy magazines. Evo is investing in its online presence. it makes sense that they would use video to its full advantage instead of just a supplement to the pictures and words in the print magazine.

Partial to this one, probably because of the subject matter...

My favourite EVO video by far. Great noises all around.
